A 700MW power plant's obsolete DCS server system hardware and software needed to be upgraded. Sensitive operations required this to be accomplished smoothly and securely.

Challenge
Previous system upgrades had not been completed correctly, leading to poor performance. A solution needed to be developed that minimized downtime. Long-term support was needed despite the remote location.
Solution
Cybertrol designed, built, and commissioned new SCADA infrastructure, including:
- Implementation of VMware vSphere utilizing a SAN for high availability
- Replacement of aging KVM devices with centrally managed thin clients
- 24/7/365 remote support with onsite response time guarantee
Results
The new environment improved application performance and reliability. Routine maintenance activities can now be completed, leveraging high-availability features during production rather than requiring production downtime.
