Cybertrol Engineering Celebrates 30 Years of Automation Innovation
Cybertrol Engineering has earned its 10th Rockwell Automation System Integrator capability badge, achieving recognition for the FactoryTalk® Optix Data Platform.
Cybertrol is among a select group of system integrators to achieve this capability, based on a completed production implementation using FactoryTalk Optix.
What the FactoryTalk Optix Data Platform Capability Means
The FactoryTalk Optix Data Platform capability identifies system integrators that can design and deploy edge-based data collection, visualization, and integration solutions using Rockwell’s FactoryTalk Optix portfolio.
To qualify, integrators must complete required training and deliver a validated Optix implementation in a production environment.
In practice, this includes:
- Collecting and structuring data at the controller and device level
- Building operator-facing visualization with modern HMI tools
- Integrating data into higher-level systems such as historians, MES, or enterprise platforms

Applying Optix within a PalletWorks® Deployment
This capability was achieved through an implementation at a North American beverage co-packer, where Cybertrol deployed FactoryTalk Optix alongside its PalletWorks end-of-line labeling and tracking software.
The application focused on improving visibility and reducing labeling errors in a high-mix packaging environment. Frequent order changes and manual adjustments were introducing inconsistencies at the end of the line.
FactoryTalk Optix was deployed as an edge data and visualization layer integrated with PalletWorks. The system collected data from controllers, scanners, and labeling equipment and presented a unified view of pallet and order status.
Operators were able to identify issues earlier in the process, reducing labeling-related rework and improving accuracy at shipping.
The architecture also supports expansion, allowing additional data points, KPIs, and reporting outputs to be added without redesigning the system.

Why this Matters for Manufacturers
Edge data platforms are often deployed as isolated tools, which limits long-term value and creates support challenges.
This capability indicates that FactoryTalk Optix can be applied as part of a broader system architecture, integrated with control systems, packaging operations, and enterprise reporting environments.
For plant and operations teams, this supports:
- Consistent visibility into production and packaging performance
- Structured data for reporting and analysis
- Systems that scale across lines or sites without rework
Built on a Broader Foundation
Cybertrol is a Rockwell Automation PartnerNetwork™ Gold System Integrator with ten capabilities spanning Batch, PlantPAx®, Control, Machine Safety, Visualization, Low Voltage Drives, IIoT, Plex MES, Plex Production Monitoring, and FactoryTalk Optix Data Platform.
Looking Ahead
Rockwell continues to expand the FactoryTalk Optix platform across HMI, edge compute, and data integration use cases.
Cybertrol is applying Optix across both packaging and process environments, including end-of-line systems, batch operations, CIP (Clean-in-Place) visibility, and production reporting—extending data from the plant floor into enterprise systems.
