October 7, 2025 – Sunny skies and 60°F made for perfect running weather as Cybertrol Engineering held its 6th Annual Race the Boss 5K! This year’s race started and finished right at our new Maple Grove headquarters (6550 Wedgwood Rd N), bringing the excitement home to our own front door.
A total of 15 racers and five walkers took part in the friendly competition, including our CEO, Ben Durbin, who—despite his usual dedication to training—admitted that a recent trip to Italy a month prior may have thrown his regimen off course. Even so, six employees managed to “beat the boss” and earn well-deserved bragging rights (plus hardware and cash prizes).
As always, one standout athlete continued their winning streak, finishing in an impressive 21:06. Rumor in the break room suggests we could start pre-printing their name on the trophy and have it ready at the finish line—but we’ll let the suspense (and anonymity) continue for now.
After the race, everyone gathered back at the office for an awards presentation and lunch catered by Famous Dave’s. Remote participants were also able to join the fun by recording their time and sending it in to be ranked alongside in-person racers.
The Race the Boss 5K continues to be a favorite Cybertrol tradition, bringing out our mix of friendly competition, good humor, and team spirit. Thank-you to everyone who participated, cheered, or helped organize another successful event. Another memorable Race the Boss 5K is behind us—now’s the perfect time to start training for next year. We’ll see who’s ready to take on the boss in 2026!
